Structured Cabling

Pocono Networks® installs and organizes business network cabling inside offices and other commercial buildings. We connect network closets, IDFs, and work areas with Cat6/Cat6A cabling or fiber, including links between IDFs on the same floor or different floors of one building. Whether you’re setting up a new space, adding network connections, or cleaning up an existing cabling system, we’ll help you choose a practical approach for your building and budget.

What We Install

We plan and install the cabling that supports your business network:

  • Cat6 and Cat6A cabling for network connections within an office or building
  • Fiber-optic cabling for high-capacity connections between network closets or IDFs in the same building
  • New network drops for planned work areas and network-connected devices
  • Cable labeling and organization to make connections easier to identify
  • Testing of installed cabling and a record of the work completed

Improve or Expand Existing Cabling

If your network closet is difficult to manage, or you need more connections in your current space, we can review the existing setup and recommend what to keep, reorganize, or replace. We also install additional cable runs to support office changes, new equipment locations, or connections between IDFs on different floors of the same building.

What “Structured Cabling” Means

Structured cabling is an organized system of network cables that connects your business’s network equipment to the places that need a wired connection. Instead of relying on unidentified cables and improvised connections, each run can be routed, labeled, and tested so it’s easier to understand and maintain. In everyday terms: it’s the wiring behind your business network, installed in a way that’s easier to manage as your space changes.

A Clear, Practical Project

We’ll discuss what you need connected, review the building and existing cabling, and recommend a suitable plan before work begins. After installation, we’ll label and test the new runs and explain what was completed in straightforward terms.

FAQ

What is an IDF?
An IDF is a network closet or cabinet that serves part of a building, such as one floor. Cabling between IDFs can connect those areas back to the main network room.

Do you connect network closets on different floors?
Yes. We install cabling between IDFs located on the same floor or different floors of the same building.
